è un miracolo
drawings on paper 21x29/embroideries on linen 40x40cm, 2009

when I was proposed the making of a series of drawings on the life of St. Nicholas, to have some ladies do the embroidery, what seduced me was the idea of being able to share the physical relationship that I have when drawing with whoever would have then embroidered; the possibility of establishing a relationship with someone who I don’t even know and who perhaps I’ll never know but with whom I could share the reconstruction of lines. only after I reflected about the subject, investigating the religious iconography as pure inventions, literally stripping all the embellishments and of the finality of  proselytising through that which is usually intended as the truth of facts.
